Co-Formula Volatile Silicone Oils Selected for Cyclopentasiloxane (D5) Alternatives

Cyclopentasiloxane (D5) has been the most commonly used cyclic siloxanes for cosmetics and personal care products manufacturing. However, D5 has a potential disrupting impact on the environment because it does not readily degrade.

Co-Formula introduced CFS-F(M)-1.5 & CFS-F(M)-2 to replace the cyclic siloxanes which are considered substances of very high concern (SVHC), according to the criteria set out in REACH Article 57. CFS-F(M)-1.5 & CFS-F(M)-2 are pure, colorless, odorless, volatile dimethyl silicone oils. Other important performance benefits include low surface tension and excellent compatibility with other cosmetic ingredients.
